Our December 2017 trip has been finalised. We will be visiting the Fish River Canyon, Lüderitz and Kolmanskop in Namibia.  From there our route will take us via Vioolsdrift to the Richtersveld.  Leaving the Richtersveld will take us through the Richtersveld World Heritage Site, staying over at Tierhoek.  From there we will pay Port Noloth and Hondeklip Bay a visit before returning home.  Timewise this will be a short trip, leaving Pretoria on 16 December 2017 and will be back on 5 January 2018.

We will update our blog page as we go during the trip for those who want to follow us.

The reason for making this not a long trip as usual is that we have started our planning for 2018. Instead of our usual holiday break over December we are looking at the possibility of taking an extended break round about September/October 2018.  We are planning a trip of plus minus two months that will include visits to Botswana, Caprivi, Zambia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Malawi.  During the rainy season, some of the areas that we are planning to visit is not assessable.  This is the reason for moving our trip forward.

This trip has also seen us starting to make some changes to our camping equipment. This will result in getting rid of some and acquiring some other.  More about that later.

For us, the planning is just as exciting as the actual trip, and we will keep you updated with progress.

Greetings

Pieter & Gerida
